I serve as a senior officer in the Animal Resources Development Department, Government of West Bengal, where I currently hold the post of Joint Director (ARD). My academic life shaped the foundation of my discipline — I completed my MV.Sc. in Animal Husbandry as a Gold Medalist, and I continue to share knowledge as an External Resource Person with SAMETI, Ramakrishna Mission Ashrama, Narendrapur.
But the rhythm of my life has always carried another pulse — music.
For more than 45 years, I have walked alongside the timeless voice of Gitasree Sandhya Mukherjee. I grew up learning her songs through Shruti-Nirbhor Shiksha, listening to the radio late into the evening, writing down every line, every curve, every breath. Over time, people began to call me the “Man with Sandhya Mukherjee’s Voice.” I take that as a blessing, not a comparison — a reminder that her music has been my oxygen, my teacher, and my constant companion.
My voice carries a certain huskiness, a certain brightness, a certain joy — traits listeners often associate with her. Perhaps that is why my performances continue to find their way into hearts across stages and digital platforms. I simply sing the way my life has taught me to sing.
Today, I stand on two paths that have somehow become one:
a life of public service, and a life devoted to music.
One gives me duty,
The other gives me breath,
Both make me who I am.

"I told someone, this [style] has been nurtured for half a century (অর্ধশতাব্দী ধরে লালিত পালিত) with many sacrifices and losing much in life; why would I compromise this for cheap sensationalism—I can sing in a male voice or a female voice—but I don't really believe in that sensationalism."
"Naturally, I feel that I am currently in the absolute peak form of my life, I can sing whatever I desire."
"I am surprised, after she [Sandhya Mukherjee] passed away... That day in Gangasagar I sang for 2 hours 20 or 25 minutes... and audiences listen to me singing only Sandhya's songs for 1.5 to 2 hours."
